How Meditating Regularly Can Help You Feel Relaxed and Accomplished

Sep 16, 2021 | Confidence

As often as I can, I’m meditating to feel relaxed and accomplished. I try for every day. That doesn’t always work out, and that’s OK.

We live in a world where it’s easy to get overwhelmed. We’re constantly trying to get ahead of the game, but we’re always just one step behind. We lose the ability to think logically and instead use our gut instincts, leading to an emotional response.

I know you’re all stressed out. You’ve got a lot of responsibilities, and you’re juggling a lot of balls. It’s hard to keep it all together. I get that. But you can’t let the stress get to you. You can’t let it control you.

Your stress is like a ticking time bomb. All that pent-up stress will build up and affect how we interact with those around us. And we have this belief that hardworking men need to be tough and firm at work. But this shouldn’t be the case.

Every one of us needs to slow down and take time for ourselves from time to time. Otherwise, the stress will pile up and affect how we interact with those around us – at home and at work.

With so many things going on in our lives, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. But don’t worry, there are ways to deal with it.

KEY POINTS

  • For many men, it’s hard to find time for themselves in the midst of everything else that life throws at them-kids, work, chores.
  • But with this meditation technique, you can stop struggling to get anything done and start living a more fulfilled life.

Stress Management Through Meditation

You’ve probably read about or been told about the benefits of meditation – both religiously and scientifically. Yet, it seems that there are still many who are oblivious to this fantastic opportunity amongst us men. My hope is that more men will start meditating to feel relaxed and accomplished throughout their day.

The information can be overwhelming or seem like some new-age, neo-liberal bullshit. I won’t lie. There’s a lot of information out there, which I think is accurately described as that. I’ll save that rant for another time.

I’m here to tell you that you can really live much better and fuller by embracing meditation when you strip all of that away.

Meditation has been scientifically proven good for you. Like, really good. And the coolest part is, it’s accessible to everyone without any expensive equipment or training. Meditation isn’t just for hippies and ladies who want all the peace and love in the world. Everyone can benefit from meditation because it will help you live a more fulfilling life.

Many things can help you deal with stress, but one of the best is meditation. Just sit down for a few minutes every day and focus on your breath. Clear your mind and relax your body. It might seem like nothing, but it can make a world of difference.

It can help you relax and clear your mind. And that’s important because if you’re constantly stressed out, you’re not going to be able to think clearly or make good decisions. So take some time for yourself, relax, and meditate. It’ll help you calm down and focus on what’s important.

Declutter Your Mind to Get More Done

A big part of the problem people have is constantly seeking out distractions. How often do you find yourself browsing Facebook or some other social media site, playing games, or watching videos when you should be working? I know this has been me more times than I care to admit.

When we constantly go online and find something to keep us entertained, we spend time on things that don’t make us fulfilled and happy. We end up living in a constant state of wanting instead of being satisfied with what we currently have.

These kinds of distractions prevent us from concentrating on a single task and completing it.

You know what I’m talking about. That nagging feeling that we can’t seem to shake, the one that tells us we need to be doing something else instead of what we’re currently working on. That voice in our head says we’re wasting our time and would be better off doing something else.

We’ve all been there. We’ve all been so distracted that we can’t focus on anything.

But here’s the thing: there’s nothing wrong with being entertained or blowing off some steam. In fact, I’d argue that it’s healthy and necessary. But when it becomes our primary focus, when it becomes the driving force behind our lives, then we’ve got a problem.

We’re so consumed with distractions that we can’t concentrate on anything. We can’t focus on what’s essential, and we can’t get things done.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. We can break free from the cycle of distractions and work on the things that matter. We just need to get back to basics and focus on what’s important.

Concentration Enhancement Through Meditation

If you’re like most men, you probably have trouble focusing on anything for more than a few minutes. You may feel like you’re constantly being pulled in a million different directions and that you can never really settle down and get things done. This is because our society conditions us to be constantly distracted. We’re told that we need to be doing something all the time and that if we’re not “busy,” we must be lazy or worthless.

This is especially true when it comes to working. We’re told that if we’re not working all the time, we’re not working hard enough. And if we’re not working hard enough, then we’re not good enough.

This is a lie. And it’s a lie that’s doing more harm than good.

The truth is, you can’t be productive all the time. In fact, trying to do so will only lead to frustration and failure. You need to take some time to relax and recharge your batteries. This doesn’t make you lazy or worthless. It makes you human.

One way to help you focus and relax is through meditation. Meditation can be used for various reasons, one of which is to improve concentration. There are many ways to meditate, but two of the most basic are breathing exercises and mantra recitation.

Breathing exercises are as simple as being aware of when you inhale and exhale. The point is to focus on the breath and make it your focal point. When you find yourself distracted by outside noise or other thoughts, simply return to the breath. This may seem simple, but it’s actually quite challenging, especially when your mind is so used to being distracted.

Mantra recitation is another technique that works, although it’s a bit more complex than breathing exercises. A mantra is a phrase or sounds repeated over and over again. The point of the mantra is to focus on it entirely, allowing your awareness to hone in on the repetition. This helps to keep your mind focused.

There are other ways meditation can help you improve your concentration. Still, the two mentioned above are some of the most fundamental. They may be helpful for beginners to get started with the practice.

Meditation and Breathing

I’m sure many of you have been told that meditation and breathing are essential tools for anyone looking to improve their concentration. And I’m here to tell you that it’s true! Proper breathing is critical when it comes to meditating to feel relaxed and accomplished.

Here’s how it works: you focus on the sensation of breathing. Not the act of inhaling and exhaling air, but the feeling itself. Pay attention to the air passing through your nose, filling your lungs, and expanding your diaphragm.

You don’t have to go out of your way to hunt down this sensation. Instead, you should focus on it until it becomes the only thing in the world that’s happening. It’ll be weird at first, but keep practicing until you get better at it. And before you know it, you’ll start to feel better.

When you’re meditating, make sure to inhale through your nose, let the diaphragm (not the chest) expand, and exhale through the mouth. This will cause your heart rate to slow down, leaving you more relaxed.

It’s also helpful to pay attention to your breathing when concentrating. Concentrate on the act of inhaling air and feeling it pass through your nostrils before exhaling it through your mouth. It may seem like a simple task, but it can be difficult when you’re first starting out.

You might be wondering how taking a deep breath could help your love life or career? Consider this: one of the most critical aspects of successful meditation practice is that you’re fully present in the moment while breathing deeply.

This tells us that being present while doing anything will positively impact our lives. It should come as no surprise then that being present while going out on a date or during an important meeting can also positively affect.

What does this tell us? Taking deep breaths isn’t just good for our health; it’s also good for our personal relationships and professional success!
